for your physical and mental health challenges
Are you experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, feelings of overwhelm, burnout or other mental health challenges?
In my bespoke 1-to-1 sessions I combine different modalities: movement, breathwork, mindfulness, relaxation techniques and counselling skills.
Together we find the right combination of practices to balance your nervous system, build confidence, and support a deeper understanding of the workings of your mind and how it affects your thinking, your relationships and your outlook on life. Bringing different modalities together in this unique way tailored to your individual needs supports your mental, emotional and physical health, and over time builds the resources needed to find more ease, build resilience, and cope with the inevitable ups and downs of life.
I reached out to Isabell as part of my recovery from burnout. Isabell’s knowledge of the complex workings of the nervous system, her gentle and caring approach, and her expertise in facilitating restorative yoga poses provided me with just what I needed to restore some inner balance and calm. I also really valued Isabell’s guidance on how to think about and reframe my experience of insomnia and anxiety. Her words will stay with me and guide me when I encounter life’s inevitable challenges and anxious moments in the future.

Together we find out which tools and techniques are most supportive for you.
We work from the top down, the bottom up and the outside in (a biopsychosocial approach)
Top-down
The way we think and our general attitude affect not only our mental state, but also the body. Focusing attention, and questioning our thoughts and feelings allows us to regulate the nervous system from the top down.
Bottom-up
Somatic practices including breathing and relaxation techniques, and movement (yoga) help to stabilise and calm the mind from the bottom up.
Outside-in
An empathic, confidential therapeutic relationship supports well-being from the outside in.
Why these specific tools?
Humans are adaptive and the body has a variety of built in responses which help us deal with stress. However, when stress becomes chronic, when we experience anxiety or panic attacks, depression or burnout, stress hormones accumulate in the body and can stick around for a long time wreaking havoc and affecting all our internal systems.
Sometimes we benefit from up-regulating the nervous system and sometimes we need to down-regulate it to support balance and calm.
We can do this through:
- Moving the body, building strength and mobility, and challenging balance as we do in yoga helps to metabolise stress hormones and move the nervous system towards balance again.
. - Relaxation techniques help to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system which contributes to feeling calmer and more relaxed over time.
. - Breathing has a direct physiological link to the nervous system and therefore shaping the breath as we do in breathwork can often have the most immediate effect on regulating the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.
. - Mindfulness, meditation, and self-compassion techniques enhance our understanding about ourselves, and pave the way for beneficial change.
. - Empathic, active listening and counselling skills add yet another dimension for healing. Talking about what’s difficult and feeling truly heard in a non-judgmental and confidential space can build the basis for selecting appropriate somatic techniques and also continuously assess how well they are working.

My expertise
I’m passionate about bringing together the skills I trained in over many years to provide science-backed tools for growth and healing. I continuously do self-study and training, so that the tools I’m offering are evidence based and efficacious. Sessions are built on my interest in bringing together insights from ancient wisdom traditions with a modern understanding of human psychology, and my training in neuroscience.
I aim to meet you in a trauma-sensitive way: invitational, inclusive, and aware of the differences and diversity of lived experiences.
I’m not a counsellor, but I have trained in counselling skills up to level 3 with the Counselling and Psychotherapy Training Academy. This certifies me to integrate counselling skills into my professional offering. I’m trained in an integrative approach to counselling which means that I draw on a range of frameworks particularly person-centred counselling, but also cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic theory. I adhere to the ethical framework of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
